Daniel T. Jones (b. 1946), British researcher and james-womack's co-author on the foundational lean texts. Jones brought a European manufacturing perspective to the MIT IMVP study and co-authored the-machine-that-changed-the-world and lean-thinking. He founded the Lean Enterprise Academy (UK counterpart to Womack's lean-enterprise-institute) and has been particularly influential in extending lean thinking beyond manufacturing into services, healthcare, and government. Jones's work emphasizes the value-stream perspective — understanding the complete flow of value from customer need to customer satisfaction.
