Ecology of Industrial Regions
http://www.volna.donetsk.ua/eir/
The international scientific journal Ecology of Industrial Regions (EIR) was founded by the V. Vinnichenko International Foundation (Gorlovka, Ukraine) in 1994. It is well known that ecological problems of industrial areas are not only biological, but also cover other aspects, including medical, philosophical, legal ones etc. Therefore, EIR has been aimed principally at an integrated approach to ecological problems of industrial regions. It is an only journal in the world presenting such a wide range of the topics concerning with the environmental industrial challenge.
Ecology of Industrial Regions publishes papers related to ecological problems of industrial regions in the widest sense, including those in botany, zoology, chemistry, geography, medicine, economics, law, philosophy and psychology. The journal considers papers based on original theoretical and experimental research that contribute significantly to the problems of industrial regions related to their environmental conditions. EIR provides all scientists with an excellent opportunity to present their papers to the scientific world. The journal aims to help scientists throughout the world to exchange with ideas and achievements in solving the above mentioned problems.

Welcome to Maine Antique Digest
The World-wide Marketplace for Americana
The Whole Internet Catalog said of Maine Antique Digest:"The monthly newspaper for those obsessed with relics, antiquities, and objets d'art. Read authoritative articles, explore a database of Antique Book reviews, and scan the Show and Auction Calendar, amongst many other features..."
Maine Antique Digest (known affectionately as M.A.D.) is a monthly newspaper that covers the marketplace for antiques and art. Each issue contains over 300 pages (380 in the April '96 issue!) of hard news, pictures, prices, and advertisements. Coverage goes far beyond the borders of Maine. We put a sampling of our editorial Contents on this web page each month. We've just recently added Display Ads. Check them out and let the advertisers know you saw them. There are over 250Book Reviews in a searchable database, or you can go directly to the listing of the books reviewed in the Latest issue.
Want an appraiser? You can search Databases for the AAA, ASA or the ISA appraisal groups. A number of other dealers and providers can be found in their own database.
You can search the site for everything!
Don't find something you'd like or see something you don't like? E-mail the Editor and we'll look into it.
Want prices? The Price of the Day is one price with a picture that changes daily. For more prices with optional pictures, check out "More Prices."
The complete Show and Auction Calendar is carried. It has some detailed ads for shows and auctions and even several full auction catalogues accessible. Catalogues are also accessible by themselves.
If you enjoy this page, do us a favor and watch our Crass Commercial Message, which may remind you of the old Burma Shave signs.
There's lots moreQ Links to other pages, Software for antiquers, where to buy M.A.D. on the NewsstandQbut we're sure you want to discover it for yourself.
Enjoy!

Welcome to NewJour, the New Journal and Newsletter Announcement List for new serials on the Internet. (For a "digest" option, see below.)
NewJour aims to accomplish two objectives; it is both a list and a project.
FIRST:
NewJour is the place to announce your own (or to forward information about others') newly planned, newly issued, or revised *ELECTRONIC NETWORKED* journal or newsletter. It is specially dedicated for those who wish to share information in the planning, gleam-in-the-eye stage or at a more mature stage of publication development and availability.
It is also the place to announce availability of paper journals and newsletters as they become available on -- move into -- electronic networks. Scholarly discussion lists *which regularly and continuously maintain supporting files of substantive articles or preprints* may also be reported, for those journal-like sections.
We hope that those who see announcements on Bitnet, Internet, Usenet or other media will forward them to NewJour, but this does run a significant risk of boring subscribers with a number of duplicate messages. Therefore, NewJour IS filtered through a moderator to eliminate this type of duplication.
It does not attempt to cover areas that are already covered by other lists. For example, sources like NEW-LIST describe new discussion lists; VPIEJ-L handles many matters related to electronic publishing of journals. SERIALST discusses the technical aspects of all kinds of serials. You should continue to subscribe to these as you have done before, and contribute to them.
SECOND:
NewJour represents an identification and road-mapping project for electronic journals and newsletters, begun by Michael Strangelove, University of Ottawa and carried on by the Association of Research Libraries as of 1993. NewJour has expanded and continued that work.
As new publications are reported, ARL Staff do the following:
-Send a template to the editors of the new e-publication for completion. This will provide detailed descriptions about bibliographic, content, and access characteristics. -Work with national agencies such as the Library of Congress to be sure that they learn of titles and that such titles are given standard treatment, such as cataloging, access to ISSN numbers.
-Incorporates the new title information into its E-Journals and Newsletters database, which is used to publish the annual DIRECTORY OF ELECTORNIC JOURNALS, NEWSLETTERS, AND ACADEMIC DISCUSSION LISTS (in collaboration with Diane Kovacs and Team for the academic lists portion of this work). The DIRECTORY is available in printed form, on the ARL gopher, and in 1995 on the ARL Web.
The backfiles of NewJour are archived and searchable on the gopher maintained by the site that operates NewJour, the University of Pennsylvania's CCAT, Center for Computer Analysis of Texts. For easiest access gopher to arl.cni.org, choose "Scholarly Communication", then choose "Newjour".
DIGEST option: Traffic in mid-1995 has been heavy on the list, sometimes 20-30 messages per day. If you prefer to receive the full content of those messages combined into a single message sent out once a day, you wish to be on the newjour-digest list. Send e-mail to mjd@ccat.sas.upenn.edu with the message line "subscribe newjour-digest". IF YOU ARE already on NewJour, you will want to add the line "unsubscribe newjour" to keep from getting both versions.
