The decade also produced rethinking-systems-analysis-and-design-1982 and understanding-the-professional-programmer-1982, both published early in the decade. The encounter with virginia-satir in 1988 was pivotal — the Change Shop workshop conceived by Satir, Dani, and Jerry would transform his approach to organizational change. Satir's death in September 1988 meant Weinberg became one of the carriers of her ideas into the technology world.
