WANTED: ESCAPE FROM THE TULSA COUNTY JAIL WHILE BEING HELD ON ARMED ROBBERY CHARGES

REWARD REWARD REWARD --- $2,000

Billy Wayne Jackson On Nov. 15, 1991 Billy Wayne Jackson robbed Pier One Imports at 5255 S. Sheridan. He took a store employee hostage that was leaving the business after closing up and told her that he would kill her if she didn't help. He forced her to disarm the alarm system and reopen the store to gain entrance. Once inside, Billy Jackson forced the woman at gun point to open the store safe, cut open a deposit bag, take the money out and put it into a sack. Billy Jackson also searched the woman employee for anything valuable and took a ring off the woman's finger. He then took the woman to the back of the store to check for more money. The woman explained that there was no more money in the store. Billy Jackson then locked the woman in the bathroom and fled the store. The woman escaped from the bathroom and called 911. The police arrived approximately 3 minutes after the 911 call. An extensive search of the area revealed nothing of the armed robber.

The suspect Billy Wayne Jackson was driving a brown 1975 two door BMW at the time he committed the armed robbery. The BMW was later found abandoned about 7 or 8 miles from the Pier One Imports store. A short period of time later the police spotted Billy Wayne Jackson corned in an alleyway a short distance from where he had abandoned the BMW. An officer yelled for him to "stop, police", but the suspect jumped from behind a vent duct and pointed his arms and hands as if he were going to shoot at the police officer. The police officer shot once missing the suspect. Billy Jackson jumped to a nearby building in an effort to escape. Police officers apprehended Jackson who was trying to climb off the building. The woman employee was called and asked if she would come and identify the suspect. Upon arriving at the scene where the suspect was being held the woman did identify Billy Wayne Jackson as the person who held her captive and had taken the money out of the store safe.

Billy Wayne Jackson was arrested and booked into the Tulsa City/County Jail. Charges of Robbery with a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm After Former Conviction of a Felony were placed on Billy Jackson. Items taken from Billy Jackson and items taken from the scene of the robbery and from his vehicle (the brown BMW) were placed into evidence at the Tulsa Police Department.

During his stay in the Tulsa City/County Jail system, the court system was building a stronger case with each court date met. On Feburary 5th, 1992, Billy Wayne Jackson escaped from the Tulsa City/County Jail system. Last known description of Billy Wayne Jackson:

Black male 5 feet 9 inches tall 180 pounds black hair brown eyes DOB 12-14-61 SS# 562-41-3457

He was last seen in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is now thought to be somewhere in California, possibly in the LA area.
