The Massachusetts Institute of Technology invites you to join us on Saturday, November 21, 1998, for the final day of the Junior Summit '98, a pioneering effort to give children from all corners of the globe, and all walks of life, a voice in the future.
Thousands of children ages 10 to 16 from more than 130 countries are already participating in the summit through an on-line discussion forum via the Internet, breaking down barriers of distance, economics, and languages, to create a world community of children. They are exploring such pressing issues as child rights, education, child labor, health care, environmental responsibility, and world peace. This event marks an important beginning, one that will bring forth the best and brightest ideas from the world's first Internet generation and connect young people in a way never before possible.
Later this month, 100 of these participants will come to MIT for a one-week meeting, which will conclude on the 21st, with the children presenting their ideas to world leaders best positioned to carry these concepts forward. We would be honored if you would be able to join global executives and world leaders for this important event.
Please check the Junior Summit website http://www.jrsummit.net for updated information on the event, a listing of the special guests, and the conference schedule.
The event will take place from 9 am - 12:30 pm on November 21 at MIT's Kresge Auditorium. Please RSVP at http://www.jrsummit.net/rsvp, by email at rsvp@jrsummit.net, or by fax to 617-252-6995. ```
