CALL FOR CHAPTERS
IT Standards and Standardisation: A Global Perspective Edited by Kai Jakobs, Technical University of Aachen (Germany)
In the light of the emerging global information infrastructure, IT standards are becoming increasingly important. At the same time, however, the standards setting process has been criticised as being slow, inefficient and out of touch with market needs. What can be done to resolve this situation, and to produce good and timely standards?
To provide the basis for an answer to this question, the upcoming book, 'IT Standards and Standardisation: A Global Perspective', aims at painting as full a picture as possible of the varied and diverse aspects surrounding standards and standardisation. Accordingly, contributions are sought from researchers and practitioners from all relevant disciplines including, but not limited to computer science, economics, social sciences, management studies, politics, and users.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
If you are interested in contributing a chapter for this forthcoming book, please forward a proposal of 2-4 pages on your topic before February 1, 1999. Authors of accepted proposals will be asked to submit four copies of their full manuscript by March 15, 1999. Final chapters should be between 25-30 double-spaced pages written in APA style. An abstract of 100-150 words should also be included. Idea Group Publishing will be the publisher of this book. Deadline for finished chapters will be July 1, 1999 with publication date of Fall of 1999.
