BHSUG - Biometrics In Human Services User Group NewsletterBHSUG - The Biometric In Human Services User Group Newsletter: The May/June issue is now available at the CT DSS website:

In this 14th issue of BHSUG, Biometrics were very, very big at CardTech SecurTech '99 in Chicago last week. There was almost too much to take in. Your BHSUG editor was there and came back with some of the seminar program highlights. NIST and Texas are both making a move on finger print templates. Jim Wayman gives us some points to ponder on this possible move toward standards. The state of Texas may just lead the way and give us a 'user' standard long before the smoke clears from other industry discussion groups. Also in the Human Services arena, there are state project updates from Connecticut and Illinois. Barry Beckwith gives us a run down on the recent Illinois pilots of both retinal scanning and finger imaging. The IBG completes a biometric evaluation for CitiBank and Visa, and the IBIA announces their privacy principles. This issue of BHSUG has the latest international "Biometric Events" calendar as well as our cornerstone "Biometric Watch", containing news briefs from all over the Biometric world.
The BHSUG Newsletter is a free publication.
