Dear Phil Thanks for your support. Please feel free to send my message to as many people as possible. Here is the latest:

Dear friends and comrades

OUR PRINTING PRESS HAS BEEN BOMBED

As I said yesterday, several youths burned several thousand copies OF THE STATE-OWNED Herald in retaliation for the burning of the Daily News copies by war vets. This is the statement released by Ray Mungoshi, Editor of the Herald: "This is the last thing I expected to happen in a society like ours where the law of the jungle was outlawed at independence. People should be tolerant to opposing views and allow those who hold opinions at variance with theirs to express themselves freely. "If the MDC was indeed behind this attack then its leadership should be held accountable for the actions of its members. "in any democracy people should not fear to speak their minds even in the presence of those they know who do not subscribe to their point of view. Freedom of expression is one of the bed rocks of democracy."

and Jonathan Moyo, Minister of Information: "We think this is an unprecedented act of thuggery and destruction of public property. This serves to confirm the assertion by the public that the Daily News is a publication of the MDC. It is now clear that the MDC runs the Daily News."

This morning, the printing press of the Daily News was extensively bombed, rendering the press useless. The government has not yet commented.

Anyway, the above two gentlemen have yet to comment on the bombing of Daily News offices, the attempted assassination of the editor-in-chief, the bombing of MDC offices, last year, and this year, the burning of Daily News papers, the attacks on the deputy news editor, Julius Zava, and the breaking of our office windows (twice this week), all by war vets, non of whom have been arrested.. Please send this message to any journalist friends and human rights groups all over the world. We need your moral support. I would like to add, however, that moral at our office is at its highest, and we can't wait to produce tomorrow's paper. We shall overcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can send messages of solidarity to: editorial@dailynews.co.zw

Julius Zava is on: dailynews7@dailynews.co.zw
