Mumia Abu-Jamal
``` [I find it depressing to continually hear that we have a "liberal media" when liberal activists can't even get the media to report that they think this guy is innocent -- all you hear is that liberal Hollywood types are in love with a murderer. At a minimum he should get a fair trial.]
I called this morning at 8:45 a.m. and a polite secretary asked for my name, which I gave, and I joked with her that she might be in for a rough day of answering the telephones and she said that she was happy to take the messages and that she had already taken several calls this morning in support of Mumia.
Love,
Ben
=-=-=-=-=-= a brief recap =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Mumia Abu-Jamal is a prominent Black revolutionary journalist and the only political prisoner in the United States facing execution. As a teenager, Mumia was a member of the Black Panther Party. And for years, as a journalist, he exposed the racist brutality of the Philadelphia police. On December 9, 1981, Mumia was shot, beaten, and nearly killed by the police in a street incident in which a cop was killed. Mumia was then framed upon murder charges and sentenced to die in a trial where he was denied even the most basic rights of legal defense.
