media review

``` A quick media review...
Today's (Monday, 6/17/96) Wall Street Journal includes an insert section on business applications of the Internet, a useful conventional-wisdom survey of what the various companies are saying and doing.
Yesterday's (Sunday) New York Times Magazine had a fairly useful article on the future (or lack of future) of cash, including regulators' views.
The 6/3/96 issue of The Nation had a good centerfold chart documenting increasing concentration in broadcast industries and some related media. The accompanying articles were not so useful though.
An early June issue (sorry, don't have the date handy) of The National Journal, an influential magazine for professional political operators in Washington, had an article about online politics. It focused mainly on political web pages, though, and didn't get much into the larger and (in my view) more important issue of uses of Internet by social movements and political organizations.
The cover story on network computing in the current Business Week is, as usual, useless.
