ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE HOSTS INTERACTIVE WEB SITE AT http://thecity.sfsu.edu/users/GovConf/
The California Arts Council and the California Assembly of Local Arts Agencies are sponsors of the "Governor's Conference on the Arts; The Role of the Artist in the Digital Age," February 1-3, at the Hotel Intercontinental, Los Angeles. As part of the conference, the World Wide Web site will report on activities, providing interviews, images, sounds, and articles by award-winning digital culture/theater/film critic Scott Rosenberg. Visitors to the site will be invited to provide commentary and feedback on issues raised by the conference, as part of what will become a permanent dialogue on the arts and technology on the Web. Commentary will be a critical part of developing arts and technology policies for the state and local arts agencies.
"The Role of the Artist in the Digital Age" conference will explore numerous topics regarding the role of internet and new media technologies and art-making. Leaders in non-profit arts organizations, business and professional media makers and producers will speak, a number of special installations and presentations are planned as well.
The conference Web Site currently lists information regarding the conference schedule, speakers, and other links.
