American Association for the Rhetoric of Science and Technology

Call for Papers for SCA in 1996

The American Association for the Rhetoric of Science and

Technology invites submissions of programs and paper proposals.

Submissions may cover any area of rhetoric of science, including

the rhetorical analysis of scientific texts, the transfer of scientific

rhetoric into literary contexts, the rhetorical impact of popular

representations of science, and the rhetoric of science policy

debates. Program proposals should include a title, statement of

purpose, names of participants with individual paper titles,

institutional addresses, telephone and fax numbers (e-mail addresses,

too). Papers or proposals should be received no later than

February 15, 1996, by: John Lyne, Dept. of Communication Studies

Building, University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa 52240; 319-335-0578.

Those submitting programs and papers are particularly encouraged

to examine the sections entitled "Convention Paper Center" and

"Poster Sessions" at the beginning of the call for papers in the

December 1995 Spectra.
