An educational workbook published by north-river-press in 2003, accompanied by a CD-ROM simulator. Where the-goal teaches TOC production concepts through narrative and the-race presents them as logical diagrams, Production the TOC Way provides hands-on practice. The two-part structure — "The Core Problem" and "The Solution" — walks practitioners through translating the-goal's insights into operational procedures, with the simulator allowing users to experiment with drum-buffer-rope scheduling and buffer-management in a risk-free environment.

eliyahu-goldratt developed this as a bridge between understanding TOC conceptually and implementing it on the shop floor. The workbook format reflects a gap that practitioners consistently reported: they understood the theory from the novels but struggled with the mechanics of implementation. A companion tutor guide was also published for instructors. The work belongs to the domain-expansion-era and represents Goldratt's recognition that different learners need different pedagogical entry points — not everyone learns best from socratic-novel-pedagogy.
