The first published compilation of Boyd's collected briefings, edited by Grant T. Hammond and released by Air University Press in March 2018 — more than two decades after Boyd's death. The volume includes all six components of the Discourse on Winning and Losing: Patterns of Conflict, Organic Design for Command and Control, The Strategic Game of ? and ?, Destruction and Creation, Revelation, and The Conceptual Spiral, plus supplementary material.

Hammond's edition makes Boyd's briefing materials available in a single, citable academic volume for the first time, addressing the long-standing problem that Boyd's ideas had been transmitted primarily through oral presentation and secondhand accounts. The publication represented institutional recognition by the Air Force (through its academic press) of Boyd's importance — an ironic development given the Air Force's marginalization of Boyd during his career.

This is the most important primary source for direct engagement with Boyd's work, supplementing the individual briefing PDFs available on the coljohnboyd.com archive.
